AJ and Alicia’s journey to From the Cut Consulting wasn’t easy. When they started Brex Enterprises in 2012, they poured everything they had into building it, but some days were so tough they wanted to quit. They pushed to grow revenue and saw their company expand to over 50 employees and new service areas in site development and pipeline work. But despite their hard work, profits didn’t follow the same upward trend. They kept working harder, yet the returns didn’t match the effort, and burnout was looming.

Realizing that more hours and more hustle were no longer the answer, they began to focus on building better systems, tracking finances closely, and aligning their efforts with their real goals. Through trial and error, they learned what it takes to make a business sustainable without sacrificing well-being.. and are still learning.

 

Now, with From the Cut Consulting, AJ and Alicia are on a mission to help other contractors avoid the same struggles, offering clarity, strategy, and guidance so they can build successful businesses without reaching their breaking point.
